Job Description: Responsible for the development and maintenance of custom software using Visual Basic. It is important to have a high level of understanding regarding Crystal Reports, SQL, and Visual Basic databases to manage application and reporting. Proper application and documentation procedures are essential.

Role and Responsibilities:
-Application development including user requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of custom software applications and Crystal Report writing.
-Ensure proper level of technical testing and sign off on testing acceptance, of new application changes/additions.  -Guide departments through user requirements, user acceptance testing, and phases of implementation.
-Assist users with training of custom software applications and custom reports.
-Follow proper application development procedures, including documenting all phases of the project.
-Consult with departments to identify areas for improvement in their operating environment.  Be a resource in supporting issues that may arise and suggest improvements.
-Oversight over all custom application and report development.
-Provide training and support for Programmer 1, ensuring they are following acceptable practices.
-Support departments in acting as the IT expert on third party applications, such as Maximizer, Syspro, Prophesy, etc…
-Develop new programming methods.
-Insists on safety as job 1.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
-Ability to prepare detailed and efficient programs of computer using industry standard Visual Basic programming language.
-Proficient in industry standard client/server Visual Basic and query report generator languages.
-Bachelor or Associate’s degree in related field, plus five years equivalent work experience preferred.
-Ability to train level 1 programmer.
-Proficient in HTML, ASP.NET, SQL, VB script, Javascript, and Crystal Reporting
