Summary:  Service low and medium voltage breakers and switchgear at customer locations, to include preventative maintenance, clean, test and repair.  Refurbish/Recondition breakers in shop.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travel to site and set up and perform inspection report as required.
  • Clean and inspect all mechanical and electrical attributes of switchgear/breakers.
  • Perform inspection reports as required.
  • Assemble and test low/medium voltage breakers.
  • Final assemble unit for shipping, prep and paint.
  • Review, repair/manufacturing instructions, diagrams, charts and repair order to determine work scope.
  • Lead man responsibilities on customer job sites. Job requires 90% travel and working up to seven days a week. Other duties may be assigned.

Non Essential Duties (Secondary):

  • Communicate with customer and serve as crew leader.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Instruct coworkers on job assignments.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of repairing, manufacturing or maintaining low/medium voltage breakers
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in electronics preferred.

Language Skills: 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, reports and procedure manuals.
  • Skill needed to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate with customers in a professional manner.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Skill needed to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: 

  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and interpret variety of technical instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CDL Class A
