The Field Services Technician is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Perform acceptance and maintenance testing of low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment and apparatus to specified industry standards and all relevant data collection and reporting
  • Conduct equipment repairs and modifications
  • Perform control wiring and control troubleshooting, metering and associated instrumentation functions, electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, system surveys and specialized maintenance services
  • Perform data collection and prepare test reports
  • Ensure safe work environments and habits within facility, including compliance with materials disposal and storage
  • Ensure that all assigned safety equipment, tools, equipment, and test equipment are properly maintained, are in good working order and are in compliance with all required inspections, certifications, and calibrations
  • Coordinate all maintenance repairs with Shop Supervisor

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus two years of experience in the job offered or in a similar engineering position
  • The employer will accept as equivalent to a Bachelors degree, an Associates degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus four years of experience in the job offered or in a similar engineering position. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, to include two years of each of the following:
  • Performing acceptance testing and corrective maintenance of high and medium voltage equipment
  • Preparation of test reports
  • Formulating maintenance and safety procedures
  • Must have a current drivers license
  • Ability to become NETA certified
  • Position requires frequent short-term travel
